The Race for Everest

2018 marks the 10th year anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary’s passing and we celebrate his amazing feat in ascending Mount Everest almost 65 years ago, reaching the summit of the highest mountain in the world along with Tenzing Norgay.

A fact that not many people might know is that Sir Edmund also reached both the South Pole and the North Pole after his ascent, making him the first person to reach both poles and summit Everest as well. Other than being a world famous mountaineer and explorer, he was also a noted philanthropist and devoted most of his life to helping the Sherpa people of Nepal. His efforts laid the path for many schools and hospitals to be built in this remote region of the Himalayas.

Drawing inspiration from his incredible life, our Edmund sock features triangle peaks that symbolizes life’s many obstacles (or mountains) that we must all overcome. The perfect sock to remind us to heed the call for adventure where no challenge is too great to overcome with perseverance in mind and spirit.
