How many pairs of socks do you currently own? Describe your favourite pair.
Waaayyy too many, but upwards of 60(!) My favorites are the pair I got married in 26 years ago. They’re gray, dress socks with an earth-toned, labeled map of the world printed on them.

What’s a book that you’ve read the most often?
The Hobbit. I love Tolkien, the world and languages he created, but I especially enjoyed voicing all the characters when I read it aloud to my children.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport that you have a good chance of winning a medal for, what would it be?
Halloween decorating or coffee making. It’s a toss-up.

What is one thing that you strongly believe in but not many other people might believe in?
Knife right – blade towards plate, fork left. No exceptions.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever purchased that is under $100?
Rösle stainless steel ice cream scoop and a pint of Häagen-Daz Macadamia Brittle.

What fictional places would you most like to go to?
The last homely house in Rivendell.

If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask?
How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?

If you could have one mediocre super-power, what would it be?
The ability to know what every word is on any menu. Celeriac? Cardoons? Crossabaw Guanciale?!

What’s one song that would perfectly describe you and your life?
Dream Away by George Harrison. It’s mostly nonsense syllables interspersed with depth, poetry, and humor.
